When I originally made my triptych it felt very cluttered to me. With the animation process I experimented with eliminating objects as well as moving objects. Again, all of the objects represent me. By moving and eliminating objects I felt that reflected how my life changes and transforms. I ended the piece with the flower in the middle of the galaxy as a symbol of regrowth.

Assignment 1 Triptych Montage
This assignment was very personal to me. I used symbols and objects that represent my life. I used a variety of scanned objects, images from the internet and some magazine images. This was my first time really using Photoshop. I had fun playing around with the sizes, transparency and placement of the objects. I enjoyed experimenting with the placement of objects the most because I feel like I could go on forever playing around with the placement.
Reading Assignment #1- Benjamin
Silent film actors lost their voice for the sake of the new film technology. It was like they were just showcasing the new technology and not being artists. However, looking back on silent films we now see them as art. How is something that once lacked art transformed into art?
In the piece by Walter Benjamin, it is stated that "While facing the camera he knows that ultimately he will face the public...During the shooting he has as little contact with it as any article made in a factory. This may contribute to that oppression, that new anxiety which, according to Pirandello, grips the actor before the camera". What is the difference between the "new anxiety" that a film actor experiences as opposed to anxiety felt by all other types of artists and performers?
